When we unload wood from a truck and when we spread lumber to select furniture parts, we look for tabletop boards. These are boards that are flat sawn from straight logs with exceptional color, figure, and character. We store them as “special reserve” and draw upon them when someone orders a table. We select to create a coherent and pleasing composition. After making the boards straight and flat and of the desired thickness, we joint them to make near invisible glue joints.
