We received our rocking chair a few weeks ago and have waited to write to you while we tried it out. We even kept the shipping box in case we decided to return it. Well, all that was foolishness. I think we knew from the first moment we saw it and sat in it that we wouldn't be sending it back. What a wonderful combination of comfort and art! Hi Gary,

The stools arrived yesterday in the middle of a 2 day move in, so I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to write yet. We just got the internet working. They are perfect – perfect color for our kitchen, perfect height, and very comfortable, especially when taking a break from directing movers. I'm very glad we got the wider ones, and I'm glad we stuck with just 4, which allows plenty of room to the sides to hop on and off. Thanks for that advice. The delivery guy could have come straight out of a Coen brothers movie, but everything was totally in tact.

As we watched all our belongings getting moved in, K. remarked that our dining chairs were the best looking of all our things for our new house. None of our kid and pet-battered stuff seems worthy of our pretty new place, except for your furniture . . .

Hi Gary,

The rocker and footstool were delivered last Thursday and were uncrated on Saturday. Both of them are just beautiful. I've, more or less, had to stand in line to try it out. I've heard it is very comfortable.

Hi Gary. Thanks for the personal check-in. I've been enjoying my chair very much so far. I find it comfortable and enjoy the comfort of rocking while I'm working. Many of my patients have complimented it as well. I feel like I'm still getting used to the feel of the chair overall, so am curious to see how my body feels after using it for a couple of weeks. The delivery people were great, by the way, working with my "doctor's office with no assistant" schedule. The only complaint I have, and it's a little one, is that the chair has a bit of an unpleasant smell. It's not strong at all and I assume it may be from the stains used, so it will likely dissipate.

My plan is to order a matching one in the next several months but need to pay off this one first.

I have the chair, and I am very pleased, not only with the comfort of the chair, but also with the aesthetics of it. In terms of visual aesthetics, the chair is pleasing to the eye in that it is simple and sinuous in a zen-like way. In terms of tactile aesthetics, the sensation of running one's hands over the arms and curves of the chair is one of great satisfaction.

The rocker arrived yesterday, unharmed from its long journey from Texas. Even the box it was shipped in looked good: Some child, either at your end or en route, decorated the box with crayon drawings of a butterfly and a ladder!

The rocker looks great in our 1850 schoolhouse home, and the pleasure I get from sitting in it is almost embarrassing. The wood is so sensuous to touch, and I sit transfixed by the little "flaws" in the grain, which stare back at me like little eyes. For me, sitting in it is both relaxing and energizing. I can lean my head against the back and hold a cup of coffee in my lap, the chair arms beveled perfectly for that restful position, but soon I find that I'm rocking slightly, and that gets me to thinking . . . and then to a sense of "OK, there's work to be done." Even a little rocking energizes my legs.

We're going to have a bunch of visitors today, and I can't wait to have them "have a sit."

You've created a beautiful piece of work that I am grateful to own.

The rocker arrived on time and in perfect shape. I am rockin' as I write!

We did a lot of research before we decided on "the rocker" that would work. We were looking for something functional and attractive. We spend a lot of time on the Oregon coast in the summers. Over the last 10 years, I have ogled the Myrtle wood rockers that various woodworkers have created on the coast. About a month before we decided on the Weeks rocker, my wife and I made a trip to the Oregon coast with the express purpose of buying a Myrtle wood rocker. We stopped at several shops and I "rocked" several chairs. The chairs varied in price from $2500–$5000 but, they all had one thing in common. They ALL had floating back staves and they all felt strange to rock, as with each rock the staves would flex. It felt weird, almost like the staves were going to break. A rocker should provide comfort while rocking, not anxiety.

I have sciatic problems and the Weeks rocker provides support and comfort to my back. I am also able to spend hours in front of the TV or reading in comfort while rockin'.

I worked for 7 years at a firm that made wood working machinery and I feel that I can recognize quality wood working. The Weeks rocker is an excellent example of superior American Craftsmanship.

The rocker arrived in perfect condition. It is gorgeous, a real work of art. After we unboxed it, we spent a lot of time just looking at it and touching it. Fits me perfectly, no pressure points on my back. It was also interesting for me to see how L. truly "gets it" regarding the chair's design and quality, as she pointed out all the fine details most people would not notice. I believe you have achieved perfection with this rocker, I wouldn't change anything. Except for maybe offering the mesquite for the same price as walnut ;)

Yes, everything arrived in time for the Thanksgiving break. I don't really know what to say except everything is just great. The nicely figured seats on the Rocker and the Harris stool are a special treat. People who have been over to the house and have seen the furniture are just as speechless as I am. I just can't believe how comfortable it is each time I sit in it. Most folks have never seen (and unfortunately most never will see) such well crafted furniture. Luckily for some of us, you have figured out how to make and sell these items at a price that is accessible – a remarkable value for the price. Lastly, I have to comment on the Otwell side table with shelf — I think it is a real beauty and perfectly proportioned. My wife says that "it's just perfect" (it is located on her end of the couch).

Hello Everyone —

Just wanted to let my whole family know that the wonderful gift you gave me on my birthday arrived at our home yesterday. It came on a truck and was boxed as if it was the lost ark from "Raiders". Once opened, I knew why. Truly, it is now the most beautiful piece of furniture we have in our home or in Willowbrook for that matter. I've never seen such a work of art like this chair. You can tell that someone spent an awful lot of time and effort into creating such a piece. It's absolutely beautiful, and as comfortable as a leather sofa. Thank-You all very, very much. Hi Gary,

I received the chair yesterday and it gathered lots of spectators at work! We were able to fit it in my hatchback for transit home and it's found a temporary home in the middle of our nursery until I can move a bookshelf out of the way. It is just stunning and rocks like a dream. Our little "Peach" (her name for now) and I had a nice rock and read last night before bed. The rocker arrived when it was supposed to with all well, complete with Wiley Mae's art work which made the box the envy of the neighborhood. I arrived (also all well) slightly later than expected and we finally unpacked the rocker late yesterday. It is both beautiful and comfortable and has gotten a lot of rocking in not very many hours. I unwrapped the chair first thing this morning and was absolutely stunned! I could not be more pleased with the craftsmanship, the design, and the comfort. The back support is just right, and everyone who has sat in it feels it must have been made for them alone. The wood is beautiful, and you captured the grain perfectly! I thank you both, and hope you will pass along my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed in creating my chair.

I am trained as an engineer and tend to favor function over form, much to the dismay of my daughters (ages 19 and 22), who are both talented artists and take the opposite view. When I first sat in the chair I was reminded of the quote from William Morris: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." The Weeks rocker is a sublime combination of aesthetics and function that satisfies both conditions perfectly. I have already promised to buy each a Weeks rocker of their own when they establish their own households in a few years. (So don't go and retire any time soon, please . . .)
