Just wanted to let you know how much our son and daughter-in-law appreciate your wonderful rocker. It arrived at their home today in perfect condition. The first words from our son were, "the finish is so spectacular that it feels soft" — followed immediately by, "this is the most beautiful piece of furniture that I have ever seen".

Hi Gary,

I meant to write you as soon as the chair was delivered on August 2nd, but it turns out we were busy with another delivery that day. Our daughter was born at 10pm! Grandpa came home from the hospital to receive the chair, where it sat until I opened the crate this morning.

It is now our favorite place to nurse, cuddle, and contemplate our amazing little N. (as you can see in the attached picture). The chair is truly beautiful, and I'm very happy with our choice of cherry.

I meant to e-mail you earlier. The rocker chair arrived about 11:30am with no problems. I had to laugh a bit at the delivery because it was delivered in a full-size semi and when the driver opened up the back to take the chair out, the whole truck was empty except for the one box with the chair. I asked the driver about it and he just said it was a slow day.

Anyway, the chair is beautiful and we are having lots of fun sharing it. I'm sure this will give us many, many years of enjoyment.

Hello Gary,

Thanks again for sending the felt pads, we received them today. I can now remove the unsightly blanket I put under the rocker.

When F. tore off the bubble wrap to expose the rich walnut wood we were all excited by what we saw. The wood grain and satin finish is sweet (OK exquisite). He thinks it's both comfortable and good looking. We are lucky to have one of your rockers.

Dear Gary,

I can't thank you enough for bringing my "Katrina-soaked" Weeks Rocker back to it's original beauty.

Despite lying in 7 and 1/2 feet of Hurricane Katrina's flood waters for well over a week, I found my Weeks walnut rocker intact. Months after the flood I used soap and water to clean off a layer of dirt and mold from the rocker. I was amazed at how good the finish looked and how well the rocker held together. I appreciate the work you recently did to restore it for me.

I lost my home and virtually all of my possessions to Katrina's flood waters,
including a collection of Ethan Allen solid cherry furniture which just broke apart. So I am especially pleased with the quality and craftsmanship you put into your furniture that allowed my rocker to survive Katrina.

The chair was delivered this morning and it's a beauty!

We live in an isolated area and the delivery company was a little concerned about bringing their tractor-trailer into our road. After several phone calls, one of their drivers, who lives in my area and was on his way home after the night shift, decided to put it on the back of his truck and bring it to me. It was a fitting way for the chair to arrive since it served to underscore the friendliness of the whole enterprise and introduced me to one of my neighbors.

The wood and workmanship of the chair is beautiful; I can't quite believe how sturdy it is. No wonder you give it such a great guarantee.

We got the chair. It looks beatiful and feels great, just as we expected! The build quality is superb and your service exceptional.

After a quick two minute "rocking" on the chair, the only thing I could think of to possibly hope for/comment on — and this is purely a matter of personal taste and influenced by "butt-memory" of the rocking chair in my childhood home in Finland — is perhaps a little bit wider range of rocking when leaning back.

I wonder if you have any comments on this? Perhaps an issue with stability? Having said that, the rocking motion range on your chair is much longer/wider than on any other rocking chair I've tried here in the US.

Again, thanks for the wonderful chair; we look forward to a lifetime of rocking!

I am glad the delivery worked for you and that you like the chair. I wish you and R. the best, and thank you very much.

When I designed this chair 12 years ago, I found the curve of the rockers and their relationship to the seat and back by trial and error. Many people tested the prototypes, giving their opinions, and I have delivered many chairs since. You are the first to comment that, for you, the rocker could travel farther back in its pendulum swing. I have had several people say that they are glad the chair doesn't go so far back as to give them any sense that it could go too far — there are some rockers out there that do give one a fright. This is not to say that your memory or experience is invalid . . . I just have to admit that I didn't get it completely right for you and hope that you find the other aspects of the chair pleasing enough to temper this compromise.

It's been a few months since my husband and I were in your studio, but I wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying our rocking chair. We are the couple that dropped in late one afternoon to look at your chairs for our nursery. Actually he graduates this Saturday. Yes, I did receive the rocker on Friday — in the midst of the snow storm here in Lancaster. I did find a tear in the box, and marked it on the shipping slip — but the rocker was unmarked. I love it Gary — you are right, I don't miss the two extra slats in some rockers. I am really impressed with the finish, the overall craftsmanship of the rocker, and feel of the rocker. I can't wait to give it to M. I must share with you — however, if he is not as excited with it as I am, I will have to return it. As much as I love it, it is a little out of my league for myself.

It is, however, exactly what I was looking for. I think the lines of the rocker would fit well with furniture from modern to Early American. I just love the clean lines and beautiful cherry wood.

After I got your message, I called Joe yesterday and scheduled delivery for today. About 20 minutes after that call yesterday, I got a call from my Dad telling me that the chair was delivered.

The rocker arrived pretty much right at the time promised, and unpacking it was much easier than I expected it to be. We are very pleased with how comfortable it is. My wife, who had been thinking of it as merely something for me, immediately found relief for her back in it and was surprised by how much she liked it (she's six months pregnant). Clearly, I will have to yield to her. Oh, and we were really impressed by the stool. You made something very simple into something really intriguing to look at, and it works very well with the chair.

He was ecstatic!! He cried 3 or 4 times and he gets misty-eyed every time he tells someone what he got for Christmas. I've just finished unwrapping the chair at my house. It is perfect! The box was undamaged at the terminal. I unpacked it from the crate and it fit right in the back of my Jeep Liberty with the seats down. It is a beautiful thing, a real work of art. Hi Gary,

The rocking chair was delivered last evening without incident, and the driver was, as you suggested, much more cooperative than the dispatcher. That individual could use some training in giving some hope to the customer that maybe things won't be as complex as was described, and refraining from the definite "no's" about which she was adamant. A simple "it is the prerogative of the driver" would suffice.

The rocker is the epitomy of fine craftsmanship. The finish is impeccable. The quality and workmanship makes us know our great grandchildren will still have use of it in the future long after our rocking days are over.
