We opened the rocker yesterday. It is gorgeous. As nice as you describe it and better. Ginny is delighted and as she sat and settled in the first time just kept repeating "Oh wow, oh wow". It looks big on her but she is comfortable and that is what counts. Your chair is a work of art and we are proud to have it in our living room. I expect it is a lifetime purchase.

They are the most beautiful Rockers I have ever seen, and look like they have every chance of lasting for several lifetimes. As I had mentioned to you when I ordered the Rockers, they were to be cared for by 3 separate families who have been joined . . . Dear Gary,

I wanted to put a review on to your site, but this will have to act as a testimonial, because I am really pleased with everything we purchased from you.

I originally bought the rocking chair because I wanted a comfortable chair that had no upholstery, since I had two cats (enough said there). The chair was so comfortable that I purchased the dining room chairs as well. Also very comfortable. The design is a perfect fit to the human body. Now I have grand children and needed a stool to help them step up to the sink and such, but also for me to sit at their level without struggling up and down from the floor. Once again . . . the stool is perfect. Just the right height and sturdy, well balanced, so no tipping when a child stands on it, and very comfortable to sit on and rise from. The price is also half that of a similar piece I was considering from a local furniture maker. I am very pleased.

The chair arrived last night. It is beautiful! And even more comfortable than promised! We are in love with it. The baby is due in just under 6 weeks. As we're setting up the nursery I am so happy to have this piece from our home state at the center.

Main Freight was great, they called when they were on the way and navigated our complicated building complex without complaining. The crate just fit through all of the doors and elevators. (In the photo you can see the crate arrived in great shape, and just fit inside our hall way! NYC apartments really put these things to the test!)

After more than ten years of use, my /our rocking chair #926 is as comfortable, beautiful, and valued as ever. You may not recall, but I am the weirdo for whom you made a draftsman’s table out of maple with a beautiful birds-eye top. It also is as beautiful as ever. A few pen marks but great! I try to keep the top cleared of work so that I can enjoy its beauty. The construction of the drawer, dovetails front and back, draws oohs and ahhs whenever I show it to people. If I were an evangelist, I am not sure how many people I would have converted over the last ten years to your product. But I believe in Gary Weeks!

There can be so many interactions with people that can be depressing. I thought that I would send to you some good news.

We got the rocker two days ago, and I've been meaning to e-mail you, but life keeps interrupting. Anyway, I'm a rocking chair snob, and I can truly say I've never sat in a better chair — rocker or not. It's beautiful. It's comfortable, and it's a true family heirloom. In fact, A. and I have decided that we'll buy Gary Weeks rockers for each kid who makes us grandparents, and then that will ensure there is no big fight over the chair when A. and I go to the Happy Hunting Ground.

I am so sorry for the belated expression of gratitude. Moving has been a bear, and I whole-heartedly echo my mom's words, but I should have added my own sooner!

The rocking chair and accompanying pieces are truly wonderful. The craftsmanship is breathtaking, and the wood immediately envelops a sitter in softness and warmth. Hi Gary.

The rocker did arrive and it is lovely. I love the wonderful smooth feel and the rounded curves.

At 5 feet tall, I am somewhat height challenged. I looked online at your stools, and I see the one that is meant for a footstool, but not for rocking. It is probably a little too high for my purposes. I'm wondering if it is possible or practical to make a small stool or box, perhaps 4–5 inches in height, that might add to the comfort somewhat. Is that something that you all can do, or are interested in doing? It's not essential, just something that I was thinking about.

The crate arrived last Wednesday and B. was able to be home for that. Since the crate looked well intact they accepted the delivery but waited for us to arrive to open it.

We are all so thrilled with everything . . . the workmanship is awe-inspiring and the beauty of the wood is truly stunning. It is so comfortable and comforting to sit in the rocker . . . M. and I look forward to putting it to good use whenever we can visit . . . and I know S. and B. will truly enjoy it on a daily basis.

Hi Gary,

We received the maple rocking chair two days ago. It's very well made, and fits both me (5'2") and my husband (5'8") well. It looks and feels better than we expected.

The entire chair is very smooth to touch. The wood grain is really nice, and the finish has an interesting shimmering 3-D effect. My husband was expecting a really light color, like the mass-produced plain maple furniture. He was pleasantly surprised that your hand-rubbed oil finish has darkened the maple and the result is just the right color for us.

Overall, we are quite happy with your rocking chair. We'd highly recommend you to other people in the future.

Austin et al: The Rocker arrived safely this afternoon. The wrapping job was itself a wonder of wonders. The beautiful Rocker is simply a product of the most artistic minds and hands in the business of woodcarving. It is more beautiful than we imagined it would be. The grain of the wood takes on a surreal flow of curves and colorations, so much more intense than we thought it would be. No one could be more pleased.

Thank you all for your signatures, which makes this Rocker so much more to us than a piece of inanimate furniture. We enjoyed meeting you, and we will never forget your artistry.

Dear Gary,

I just received my rocker. The shipper was courteous and the crate arrived in perfect condition. I am sitting in my chair writing this email. While a picture is worth a thousand words, neither is adequate to describe the comfort I am experiencing. The arm rests are the perfect placement, my feet rest comfortably on the floor and the finish is soft, smooth and beautiful. We would like to tell you that words cannot express how happy we are with the Walnut Rocker you made for us. It is absolutely gorgeous! It arrived exactly on time in perfect condition as you promised. It's amazing how it "fits" both myself and my wife. Know that we have a 12 inch difference in our heights and the rocker is so comfortable for both of us. You certainly have a gift in your woodworking skills, talent, and artistry. My wife rocks in it everyday and it brings her such peace and joy while she meditates there. We've used it to rock our grandson and looking forward to rocking the two new grandbabies coming this summer and fall. Hello Austin,

The cherry rocker arrived yesterday in good shape. I had delayed delivery for several days due to a family emergency. The craftsmanship is superb and it is a very handsome item. However, I realize that if I had been able to see it and sit in it before purchasing it, I would not have bought it. The chair feels too large for our space and more hefty than the furniture around it. I find the angle of the back when I am sitting in it places me further back than is comfortable; I am used to a rocker that keeps me a bit more upright, which I prefer.

I will be away for a few days, then will decide for sure if I want to return it or not. Sorry to report this. Thanks for your excellent service.

Subsequently: Austin, My concerns with the cherry rocker's fit for me and its setting in our home remain, and I would like to return it. I'm disappointed and find no fault with your product. As I wrote last week, had I been able to see it and sit in it before purchase, I would have realized its size and sitting position were not quite what I was looking for. I guess for both of us, that's the risk of shopping without being able to "try it on". I'm grateful for your guarantee. I have the box it came in. Please email or call with directions for packing and return shipping.

The rocker and table arrived and are truly wonderful. They felt silky coming out of the box. You think you know what it will feel like to sit in the chair but we found it even more comfortable than expected. The rocker proportions command attention as a sort of sculpture but function is the first purpose. The table works as a beautiful little brother.

I got the rocker yesterday and am thoroughly pleased with its workmanship, design and comfort. The cherry wood is lovely, and the rocker moves with minimum effort and great bum and back support. It's also pleasing to the eye- — form follows function in a striking piece of furniture. Thanks for a product that actually is what is claimed.

I'm not so happy with the extra charges newly applied to import duties here, but that's not your issue. Australia is a wealthy country and we are so partly because most of us are paid a very decent wage. It's reasonable to pay fairly for custom processing, but being human means I get to complain!

Dear Gary,

In October my husband and I went to M. M. in upstate NY for a long weekend. On every porch and in front of every fireplace in this huge resort hotel is a rocking chair. I became enamored by the rocking chairs and how relaxed I felt every time I sat in one. When we arrived home I told my husband I was going to find the perfect rocking chair so I could learn to relax at home.

Well he decided that somewhere on this planet there was a perfect rocking chair for his wife. He is a computer Geek so he knows his way around the computer and quickly found your website and began showing me your chairs. They actually took my breath away as he showed me the catalog of gorgeous chairs.

In November my walnut chair arrived. Oh my goodness, I have never seen a rocking chair like yours. I sat in it and I was transported to a calm and peaceful place. This rocking chair is everything I had hoped it would be.

When my husband ordered it for me he stated, "You will rock our first grandchild in this chair and you will have it long after I am gone and then you will pass it on to our son who will pass it on to one of his children." The quality of your rocking chair is outstanding which guarantees it will last from generation to generation in our family.

I feel blessed to have one of your rocking chairs to treasure and then pass on to my son who will pass it on . . .
