The Rocker arrived this morning. It appears that it showed delivery on the AIT site, but that was delivery to a subsequent Carrier. It arrived today without damage. Hi Gary,

My wife was quite surprised when she received the rocker and as you would probably expect, my wife loves it. The shape is perfect along with the woodwork. She was also amazed that while it fits her at 5’3” is also fits me at 6’1”. I’m not sure how you accomplished that because we’ve never found a rocker that both of us like. At present, she plans to share it with me. We’ll see how that works out!

From my perspective, I was amazed at the care you took in sending the rocker. It could have been picked up at your factory from the looks of the packaging right off the truck. Upon opening the box, I was exceptionally pleased with the care you took in making sure the rocker would have not even a scratch upon arrival. Your rocker is the best packaged item I’ve ever bought.

...The chair arrived in great shape and has been in near continual use since - a superb piece of furniture!

...One thing I failed to mention is the comfort of the back structure. The height, width and curvature are just right for me and also seems to fit neighbors of a wide range of sizes who have tried the chair - don't change a thing for future versions.

Gary: Very nice to hear from you. You make an incredible rocking chair! It supports so well that when I sit in it, I immediately feel the tension in my neck, shoulders, spine and lower back relax. Same with my wrists and forearms from the arm rests. I always want to lean my head back, close my eyes and doze a bit.

Thank you for your kind words, but don’t worry, the damage to the first rocker did not cause apprehension. I felt bad for your company, because you had made such a beautiful piece. It needed to be restored to its full luster – and only by your crew. Just seeing it, however, increased my anticipation of enjoying the rocker, so I didn’t mind returning it and waiting a little longer. Austin was so responsive in his willingness to quickly ship the second rocker. It arrived the day before Thanksgiving and all my family members savored it, with corresponding oohs and aahs.

It has been a real pleasure working with your company. Thank you Gary, Austin, and everyone involved, the chair is utterly beautiful! The wood grain is gorgeous and well matched, and the craftsmanship impeccable. It arrived safe and sound and the big box is being used as a playhouse for our three year old daughter. (She's even got windows, a door, and a chimney on top). Recycling day is on Monday, but something tells me I won't be allowed to let it go....

Gary, ... your timing could not have been more spot on! It arrived the day our daughter was born, and was waiting for us when we came home from the hospital.

I am feeling proud of myself as a grandmother for purchasing a Weeks Rocker for my daughter L. and her husband A. to celebrate the birth of their first child. What a perfect idea for us to give them that rocking chair, and what a spectacular job you and your team did creating it! It's truly amazing--a beautiful, functional centerpiece in their home. Whenever I head over to their house to wallow in my grandma role, I spend nearly the entire visit sitting in that lovely, comfortable rocker. And I hear that when I'm not there hogging it, it is enjoyed by L. and A. and Baby H. almost continuously.

A couple of weeks after H. was born, her other grandparents (A.'s parents) came out from South Dakota to visit and meet her. L. said the VERY first words uttered upon their arrival, walking into the house, were by A.'s dad (an artist), who gasped and exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, WHERE did you get that CHAIR? I have never seen anything so well made. It's truly a work of art.” ... and for the duration of their 4-day visit they were rocking H. in it, taking turns.

Yes, the rockers and footstool arrived in excellent condition last week. We appreciated the packaging design and how well protected they were during shipment.

And, I must say, the design, craftsmanship, and comfort of the rockers is unparalleled. I keep looking at the joinery, the curves, the grain — and I continue to find things that amaze me (especially as a woodworking enthusiast). I continue to run my hands along the edges, and find these complex curves and shapes that are so pleasing to the hand, and the eye. And, to top it off, it’s a real test to see two rockers side by side, and admire the repeatability of your work. We absolutely love them.

In addition, your customer experience has been excellent. From ordering, to payment, to delivery, to followup, and all of the communication along the way. That stuff is not easy to do well, and it is obvious that you put a priority on getting these right. Thank you.

I do have to tell you a story about our dining room chairs. We have them in the dining room and are using them every day. A friend of ours came over to use our wifi since her house was seriously damaged during the big freeze in February... So, she came in and sat at the dining table on the chairs. After about 2-3 hours she told me that she was really worried when she came in and saw where we had set her up in the house. She thought she wouldn't be able to sit in the chairs for any length of time. However, she said she actually felt comfortable and sat there for another 2-3 hours. Your designs strike again!

When Forrest called I told him I was tickled to hear from him and he said that he had the world's most beautiful rocking chair on his truck for me. He was not lying! It is absolutely gorgeous! The grain is beautiful, the matching and alignment of the grain on separate pieces is amazing and the workmanship is beyond anything I've seen. Every day I find some detailed piece of craftsmanship that blows me away. If you can't tell, I LOVE the chair.

The one question I have is care and feeding for the chair. From the website it would appear the my rocker has an oil finish and not wanting to do anything that might detract from it's beauty I'd appreciate knowing what you would recommend to clean and treat it. THE GARY WEEKS ROCKING CHAIR EXPERIENCE

Most of my adult life I searched for the perfect chair.

When I opened the box of my brand-new rocker, I was struck by the beautiful color and finish.

As soon as I sat in it, I totally relaxed. I could sit in the rocker without it moving or, just by almost thinking or moving my toes slightly, it would begin to rock.

The sheer sturdiness of its composition. The smoothness of the finish was like silk on wood.

I felt like I was sitting in a tree in a garden.

The slats on the back supports the concavity of the lumbar spine, as does the neck for the cervical spine. It is pitched perfectly as if he understands the mechanics of the body.

The arms slightly swerve backwards to the let the blood flow back to the heart. The arm rests allow you to support the arms and hands without fear of them falling off.

The embedded dowels and the little touches give the chair a classic stature. The wood is friendly to the body and almost needs no cushion.

One feels close to nature, especially in New York City.

The furniture is holding up great. We’ve had a few sunny afternoons to enjoy it. The porch faces West-Southwest and warms up quite a lot when the sun makes an appearance. Today it is around 50 degrees and the light rain is coming in sideways. They are, without a doubt, the finest rocking chairs in which I have had the pleasure to sit.

The rocker is the only chair I have used since Christmas, it is wonderful. I keep running my hands over it and feeling the perfect edges and transitions. I love the ridge on the front of the rear leg that runs from the crest rail and disappears into the arm rest and the carefully chiseled chamfer where the crest blends into the leg. I keep reaching down to feel the crisp sharp corners of the seat corner against the smooth edges of the rear leg. I tried to find some sign of imperfection and nothing, it is hard to tell that human hands have touched it

The rocker is by far the nicest piece of furniture that I will ever own but on a $ per hour basis I suspect it will end up being the cheapest!

What a uniquely exquisite shopping experience!! Found Gary’s website searching for a special rocker for my wife. Hand made in USA, high quality wood options, clearly intelligent but subtle design modifications for comfort...so that’s a great product! What blew me away was a personal phone call from Gary to discuss an inlay question I had, shipping options close to Christmas, any other questions or requests I might have...all with that endearing TX accent and mirrors the authentic and sincere videos on the website.
