Hello Gary and Leslie —

The rocker was delivered yesterday. The box was in reasonably good condition; the edge guards are brilliant. The delivery guy and I opened the box and removed the chair but did not unwrap it. Everything looked undamaged and I signed for it. I unwrapped it this morning and brought it inside. It is beautiful; an extraordinary piece of craftsmanship. I sat on it and immediately smiled because it is exactly as described on your website. Every surface is perfect. It is so comfortable. I was mostly unsure about there being only 4 slats in back but my concerns were unwarranted. I am looking forward to a rainy day to sit there by my window and read a good book, not that I won't be enjoying it on nice days, too.

Gary,

Yes, we received the box decorated by a grand daughter (I presume) containing a remarkable creation . . .

We had you ship the cherry rocker to us in KS, as we plan to carry it with us as we travel next week to NY for a family gathering with J and S (the recipient). This will afford us the luxury of watching their response to its arrival in their lives in person.

And, that will be a delight!! The decorated box will be opened to a marvelous creation. Well conceived, the execution was flawless with a reverence for the material. The idea of the many days of sun and rain and snow in the growing of a tree(s) to produce the wood that your capable hands crafted into an instrument (a thing of beauty in itself) that S. will slowly introduce another being into the rhythms of existence in . . . let the music ebb and flow . . .

So, though I took a week to acknowledge my reaction to your work in hopes of getting the words right, it boils down to a simple Thank You. My admiration and respect to you and your son and your crew for sharing beauty with us and those who follow us.

Gary, Austin and others:

First above anything else, thank you so much from the M. family for providing what has to be the most comfortable and relaxing chair in our entire house. Not a day goes by where we don't admire its beauty or sit in its welcoming form. Upon its arrival, I claimed it as my primary chair in the house. Upon the birth of our daughter, mom has summarily displaced me from this fictitious right and uses it every day for nursing, comforting as well as some well deserved napping. Each person that puts eyes on it for the first time is really quite taken with its beauty and craftsmanship. We couldn't be more happy with having this chair in our house and as part of our family. It will truly last a lifetime and beyond and I couldn't be more proud to pass this piece along to the future M. generation.

Thanks again for providing such a wonderful piece. We absolutely love it.

The chair arrived today and it is beautiful and comfortable. The stool is also great.
Gary did a great job picking out the walnut. It is more beautiful than I imagined and it matches perfectly.
You have also been very nice and helpful and I would like Gary to give you a hug from me and I'd also like you to give him a hug from me.
The driver who delivered it from MainFreight was very helpful and very nice so everything went very smoothly.
I look forward to relaxing comfortably in my new rocking chair. Oh, I am 6'3" and A. is 5'2" and it seems to fit both of us.

Dear Mr. Weeks.

We have had many good conversations in the past. Our chairs are still a blessing to our family and the Rocker is the highlight of the living room.

The Mesquite Rocker can sit in a cabin in the wilderness or in the White House and wouldn't be out of place in either!

Hey Gary,

We got the rocker. It's absolutely gorgeous, and sitting in it brings me right back to my time in our house in Wimberley. It's more meaningful to me than I can ever express. We feel the love you've all put into it, and I we can't thank you enough. And thank you for the kind words. We will be rocking our boy to sleep as long as he can fit in our arms.
