Two beautiful rockers arrived on our porch in perfect condition this afternoon.  We are blown away!  The craftsmanship and wood are fantastic, and the engravings came out great.  It will be hard to part with them on Christmas day.

I have not a shred of doubt that your furniture will stay with us for life and will serve us just as the rocker has for the past 13 years (by the way, it looks better with time). And the way we got here, you and us, was a rewarding experience. It is not just a table and four chairs one can buy somewhere off the shelf; it’s a member of the household now.

On a lighter note, thanks for the circles around the screws on the crating. They made the unpacking much easier. And it is a pity that you could not see those who passed by when I was undoing the crating: obviously, I had to do it in the street as there was no way of carrying the wooden box up a flight of stairs that separates the street from our door. Nobody asked the question but I could unmistakably read it in their faces: what on earth can possibly be inside?

Sure, do use any of my quotations although your furniture needs no advertising.

Austin, it was a real pleasure. Please do extend my regards to your father and our thanks to everyone who worked on those items.

We just received our second shipment of dining room chairs, the first shipment being about a year ago. They are wonderful, along with the maple rocker we purchased last year.

I found Gary Weeks company on the internet. My sister lives in Houston and I wanted to see this chair so badly, I flew from Seattle to Houston and then we took a little weekend trip to Wimberley, TX. While I felt very comfortable that I could return the chair if I didn’t like it, a trip to see my sister seemed like a fun idea.

I’m so glad I went. I met Gary’s son Austin and a couple other members of their team. They were all very delightful and showed me their shop. They showed me the wood they use and how they put the chairs together. While eating at a restaurant in Wimberley, I saw a rocking chair and could tell it had been made in their shop. The chair in the restaurant was over 10 years old.

When you sit in the rocker, you just want to stroke the wood, it’s that soft. The chair is very comfortable. It fits both my husband and myself. I have a piece of functional art.

Also, the chair was shipped beautifully and I was apprised of when it would be delivered. The entire transaction was seamless from start to finish.

The chair itself was lighter than I'd expected, and once we had it out of the crate it was easy to transport up to my suite. I also appreciate that most of your your shipping material can be recycled.

Gary and co....THANKS.
Having gone thru several local high end stores sitting in all they had that looked as if I could tolerate it in the house, when I first
sat in my new cherry rocker, so scant and unbulky and beautiful....amazing. And yes, last nite after couple hours on that beautiful
hardwood my bony bottom was beginning to want some pad… Anyway, you have my gratitude and admiration in full. What a joy to deal with
a craftsman and his family. Am a retired eng. and kinda putter around wood lover and builder of my simple oak desk now holding my laptop.
Believe I can fully appreciate the skill, love and care that went into every aspect, not the least of which is your incredible box and packing.

The only chair I considered at the high end store was a stressless from Sweden or Denmark. It cost 500 more than my chair from you. I asked
the very nice saleswoman "is this like the car dealer, when I leave the shop with the chair there is no option to return? She said that is correct" I said "why
would I risk nearly 3000 to try that??

Anyway, am interested in your pad you are working on, because I KNOW it will work with your chairs....you are that kind of guy.

ps Son visiting here is a structural engineer. He is very impressed, and found it comfy

Here's a little case study. I'm 5 feet 2 inches and sat on the chair right after we got it out of the box (by the way, it was really well packed with padding where it was necessary but no extra garbage, and in a high quality box that had clearly been designed for this chair). Not only did I find it very comfortable, but I also noticed something very unusual: my feet reached the ground when I was sitting. Then it was S.'s turn. There was silence until S. finally said what we were both thinking. If I could reach the ground, the chair was going to be ridiculously tiny for his 6 feet 2 inches.

Well... he tried it and also liked it a lot. We were very impressed by the design. Honestly, I didn't think it'd be possible to make a chair that would be comfortable for body types as different as ours. I'll learn more about Gary and his team on their website. I'm curious now!

Hi Gary,

My wife was quite surprised when she received the rocker and as you would probably expect, my wife loves it. The shape is perfect along with the woodwork. She was also amazed that while it fits her at 5’3” is also fits me at 6’1”. I’m not sure how you accomplished that because we’ve never found a rocker that both of us like. At present, she plans to share it with me. We’ll see how that works out!

From my perspective, I was amazed at the care you took in sending the rocker. It could have been picked up at your factory from the looks of the packaging right off the truck. Upon opening the box, I was exceptionally pleased with the care you took in making sure the rocker would have not even a scratch upon arrival. Your rocker is the best packaged item I’ve ever bought.

Yes, the rockers and footstool arrived in excellent condition last week. We appreciated the packaging design and how well protected they were during shipment.

And, I must say, the design, craftsmanship, and comfort of the rockers is unparalleled. I keep looking at the joinery, the curves, the grain — and I continue to find things that amaze me (especially as a woodworking enthusiast). I continue to run my hands along the edges, and find these complex curves and shapes that are so pleasing to the hand, and the eye. And, to top it off, it’s a real test to see two rockers side by side, and admire the repeatability of your work. We absolutely love them.

In addition, your customer experience has been excellent. From ordering, to payment, to delivery, to followup, and all of the communication along the way. That stuff is not easy to do well, and it is obvious that you put a priority on getting these right. Thank you.

When Forrest called I told him I was tickled to hear from him and he said that he had the world's most beautiful rocking chair on his truck for me. He was not lying! It is absolutely gorgeous! The grain is beautiful, the matching and alignment of the grain on separate pieces is amazing and the workmanship is beyond anything I've seen. Every day I find some detailed piece of craftsmanship that blows me away. If you can't tell, I LOVE the chair.

The one question I have is care and feeding for the chair. From the website it would appear the my rocker has an oil finish and not wanting to do anything that might detract from it's beauty I'd appreciate knowing what you would recommend to clean and treat it. I must say, the packing in the those containers was so secure. Everything arrived with our a scratch and shipping boxes showed no sign of being dropped or crushed.

The chair and footstool arrived yesterday and I think I'm in heaven -- haven't sat on the sofa once since it arrived!

The delivery company, XPO Logistics, was wonderful. Per your instructions, they called Monday to set up a delivery time window. Check the box for damage? It looked as if it had just been loaded on the truck, not a mark or speck of dirt anywhere. We have a steep driveway and the driver had to park up on the street. He kindly offered to unpack the chair and take away the box. Then he insisted on not only carrying it in, but completely helped me unwrap it:

I asked B. to try it and he couldn't imagine putting his feet up that high on a footstool until he did so. He was amazed at the back support...

I will not only use the chair but treasure it!

The chair was delivered today, in perfect condition, with the stool nestled inside. Great job packing the chair! And the cardboard we'll use as weed barrier under pine straw. The cardboard ought to work for years. It's good and thick.

We have a pair again, at last. And in time for our golden years. One delightful note is the degree that cherry darkens over time. Our old chair is 20 years darker. I know cherry does that, but will the new chair ever catch up--that is, does the darkening slow down? And may we both live to 90 to find out. For now, we have his and her chairs, with hers of course being the one I didn't destroy and replace.

A bow and hat tip to you and all your crew! Very, very well done! Y'all give life to these chairs--make them characters in our story. And that's rare, indeed.

I ordered one of your walnut rockers as a present for my wife for her 60th birthday. She's wanted a rocking chair for quite some time to rock our grandchildren. I can't tell you how happy she is with the chair.

It's more beautiful than I imagined and is extremely comfortable. Our 5'3" daughter and 6'2" son-in-law were there and we all tried it out. I don't know how you did it but everyone who sat in the chair felt it was designed for them. My wife also commented on how 'soft' the wood is because it's so smooth. Never thought I would hear wood described as soft. It's really hard to walk past the chair and not sit down in it and relax for a while.

The service you provide is also top notch and something I really appreciate. You and Austin were very responsive, even though it was during the Christmas holiday. There was great communication throughout the ordering and shipping process. Even Mainfreight, the company you use to ship the chair, provided outstanding service.

The photos did not prepare me for how good this chair looks and feels in real life. Stunning, exquisite. Everything is first rate, from the immaculate packing and shipping to the museum-quality chair (it really is art). Those things would be meaningless, though, if it wasn’t comfortable and sturdy, you know, like good furniture. It is. (Cherry was a good choice, too; warm & friendly like a Golden Retriever.)

All in all, some very fine work from the people at Gary Weeks!

Hi Gary,

I did receive the rocking chair, just when you said it would come. And the delivery person was very pleasant and helpful. I rock in it almost every evening. It is my "let it be" chair.

It seems each time I sit in it I find something else to like about it. Just the other night I discovered if I turn a little and hang one leg over the arm I can use the edge of the back support slats and the rocking motion to massage my back. Aaah. I don't have any problems with my tailbone resting on the seat, which is a nice surprise. I especially like that the slats in the back leave a spot for my spine right in the middle, that there's room for me to tuck my feet underneath, and that it rocks pretty far without ever feeling unstable. And it's absolutely beautiful.

I almost hate to give any non-positive feedback, because it might make you think I enjoy my chair less or expect you to do anything about this stuff. But you seem like you might appreciate it... So this is just for your information; no need to respond.

- The bottom of the shipping box was very dirty - that black greasy dirt that sticks to things. If I had carpet instead of hardwood floors I would probably have had to clean the carpet afterwards.

- I find that resting my arms on the arm rests isn't all that comfortable. I'm not sure why. They feel a little too high and far away from my body. I am about average height for a woman (5'-7") but I think I have long arms for my height. And I'm on the slender side. In fact it's more comfortable for me to tuck my elbows through the back of the chair and put my hands on the seat next to my behind.

Last night my good friend M. came over and spent some time in the rocking chair. She's had a difficult few weeks and she really seemed to find the rocking chair soothing. She also thought it was beautiful.
